Fenty Beauty Review

Hey Beauties!

This is probably one of the most exciting posts to date! Aside from the fact that I’m a huge Riri fan (actually it’s my nickname to friends) I got real joyful the minute I heard she’s coming out with a makeup line. She has been teasing us on the red carpet wearing products from her line as a sneak peek. By the way Fenty is Rihanna’s surname or last name in case you were confused about the name and why, it’s actually Robyn Rihanna Fenty.

The fact that she has 40 shades of foundations to choose from is an absolute winner. She focused on the face products and one universal lip gloss as the debut, and I’m sure she’ll release eye products and lip products down the line. What caught my eye is the foundation and lip gloss. I was close to picking the highlighter called “trophy wife” as well but lips and foundation is my latest craze. I have the best boyfriend ever as he was the one that got me these products from Sephora. Thanks boo! P.S. find you a man that supports your makeup obsession 😉

Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Long wear Foundation

As per the website here are the claims:

Give it to me quick:

A soft matte, longwear foundation with buildable, medium to full coverage, in a boundary-breaking range of 40 shades.

Tell me more:
Finally — the ultimate photo filter in foundation form.  Born in 40 boundary-breaking shades, Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation gives skin an instantly smooth, pore-diffused, shine-free finish that easily builds to medium to full coverage. The oil-free formula is made with climate-adaptive technology that’s resistant to sweat and humidity, and won’t clog pores so that wherever you are, it’s going to work on your skin. Best of all, this longwearing, light-as-air texture is undetectable on skin so you always look like you.

How’d we do it?

  • Obsessive research to create the perfect range of shades for all
  • Exclusive insights from the world’s top makeup artists

  • Extensively tested for real life, on real women

We figured out that it takes the right balance of tone and texture to make foundation work on every skin type. We obsessed over custom pigment levels to capture your truest tones with a soft matte finish that’s just right—not too matte and not too shiny. The result? A comfortable longwear formula that lets skin look like skin. Made for all women to love.

Shade-Finding Tips:

  • Always shake before use to activate.

  • Pro Filt’r’s rich pigments need a moment to dry down to their truest color, so when you’re testing shades, remember to let the formula dry completely to find your perfect match.
  • Deciding between two shades? Try the lighter shade.

Rihanna’s go-to shade? 340. She also wears 330, 360, or 370

depending on the time of year.

Fenty Beauty is 100% cruelty free.

My experience:

The packaging of all her products is very sheek, classy, simple and modern. It has some weight to it which I don’t mind as it doesn’t feel cheap or light. It contains a frosted bottle with a white lid and thank goodness for a pump.

I choose my shade online, and after reading and watching reviews I didn’t notice that her foundations oxidises. But also remember once you pump it out on your hand or face it appears a bit light, once dried down it adjusts slightly to the true shade in the bottle. Thankfully it still matches my skin tone and picking this foundation online was fairly easy in my opinion. There are four categories to choose from which are Light, Medium, Tan and Deep. I read on the website Rihanna wears 340, 330, 360 or 370 and I have similar undertones to her. I then knew that my shade would be more or less one of those and judging by the swatches also provided on the site I settled for 360.

The consistency is runny and I usually pump 2 pumps and apply one layer for my entire face and neck. I generally love applying foundation with a beauty sponge, but using it with a sponge or brush is fine as the result is the same. I’m someone that blends my foundation quiet fast whether it’s a fast drying foundation or not. This is a fast drying foundation because it is matte, but like I mentioned it’s not a problem for me. It dries down to a soft matte finish as suggested and I don’t even need to set this once it dries down or settles. It honestly gives the appearance of a flawless complexion and lasts the entire day. I love long lasting foundations especially when I spend all day at work or when I’m out and about running these streets. It feels very lightweight and not cakey at all. This is the perfect foundation for the summer or warm months as well.

Contains 1.08 fl.oz/ 32 ml. Can be purchased at Sephora or Fenty Beauty website.

Gloss Bomb

As per the website:

Give it to me quick:

The ultimate, gotta-have-it lip gloss with explosive shine that feels as good as it looks—in one universal rose nude shade.

Tell me more:
The stop-everything, give-it-to-me gloss that feels as good as it looks. Gloss Bomb delivers explosive shine in one perfect rose nude shade handpicked by Rihanna herself: Fenty Glow. We’re talking the unicorn of nudes that looks good on everyone.

One luscious swipe of Gloss Bomb’s XXL wand gives lips more to love, while conditioning shea butter enriches from within. Lips look instantly fuller and smoother, and though it’s super shiny, it feels amazing on your lips, with an addictive peach-vanilla scent you just can’t get enough of.

Drench lips in the Fenty Glow—it’s the ultimate finishing touch to every look.

My Experience:

The packaging is short and fat which makes it convenient to throw in your bag or travel with. The scent is absolutely lovely as everyone raves about. The consistency is thin and lightweight and glides onto the lips very smoothly and easily. I’ve worn this on it’s own and over lipsticks and love it both ways.

It’s quiet nice that she created a gloss that ANYBODY can wear. This shade is called universal for a reason. The shimmer gives the lips a juicy, succulent appearance 😉

Contains 0.30 oz/ 9 ml. Can be purchased at Sephora or Fenty Beauty website.

I definitely give this two thumbs up as you could tell, and I cannot wait to see what else Miss Fenty comes out with.

What products have you tried from this line? What are your thoughts?

Thanks for stopping by:)

      1. Summer is technically over where I am but it’s still hot & humid where I am as well. I had to blot earlier than I normally have to when I tried this foundation which was disappointing. I used my normal mattifying primers and set with my usual powder too. I’ll stick with my 3 usuals that hold up well in Florida weather (Estée Lauder Double Wear, Lancôme Teint Idole & Revlon Colorstay).
