Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer Review

Hey Beauties!

I’ve not been posting as often as I would cause I’ve been getting hella busy. I should be back to posting a couple of times per week very soon.

Today I will be reviewing/ sharing feedback on the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel . I’m beginning to dive more into Clinique’s skincare products. Their Take the Day off Cleansing Balm is already my holy grail product, literally cannot do without it. So I had high hopes for this moisturizer.

As per the website:

What it is:

The oil-free moisture “drink” developed by Clinique’s dermatologists to maintain optimal moisture balance for skins comfortable in the cheeks but oily in the T-zone or oily all over. Oil-free formula softens, smooths, improves. Absorbs easily; leaves no residue with a lightweight, non-greasy formula.

*Please note: the 50ml product is packaged in a tube; the 125ml is packaged with a pump. The pump will not fit on the cap-top lotion version.

How to use

Use twice a day, morning and night.

Apply to face and throat all over, or where needed.

My Experience:

I was on the hunt quiet a while for a good moisturizer during the summer time. I normally use heavy, thick moisturizers and oils during the winter months, and then a lightweight, gel or oil free moisturizer during summer. I have very dry skin during winter and combination skin during summer. My T-zone gets a little oily hence why I needed a lightweight gel consistency formula.

I’ve been using this for the past 4 weeks to form a good opinion at this stage. I also didn’t want to invest in the bigger bottle and choose the smaller size to test out. I purchased this specifically for the mornings to apply before sunscreen or makeup application.

The consistency is very lightweight, gel like and transparent on the skin. I don’t have to spend 10 hours blending this in or massaging into my skin. It absorbs very fast which is superb especially when I’m in a hurry in the mornings. It does not feel thick or heavy on my skin, and after about 5 minutes it’s fully absorbed/ penetrated. This is perfect for someone that is extremely oily as it is lightweight yet very Hydrating at the same time. I don’t produce or over produce any excessive oiliness on my T-zone and at the end of the day my skin still looks and feels great. This moisturizer helped normalize my skin and there isn’t really a huge differentiation between my oily T-zone and excessively dry cheeks and neck. I’ve also noticed that my skin appears slightly brighter in tone.

This is great for wearing under makeup as it absorbs into the skin really fast and this prevents my skin looking oily at the end of the day or it does not affect the longevity of my makeup.

I would definitely recommend this moisturizer to anyone with dehydrated, combination and oily skin. This as well as the Dramatically Different Moisturizing LOTION is such a great moisturizer for the summer time and I will definitely be sticking to this for the warmer months. For winter I would love to try the Moisture Surge and the Moisture Surge Serum as that seems to be more fitting when my skin gets very dry during winter.

Sold at Foschini, Woolworths, Edgars or Truworths as well as Clinique’s website.

Have you tried this Clinique moisturizer or any other Clinique’s skincare products? What are your thoughts?

  1. I’ve used this moisturizer in the past as liked it. Was thinking about getting a new one but then I got a sample of the Belief Aqua Bomb (the blue gel one for oily/combo skin) and fell in love. I just got another sample & asking Santa for a full size.
