Mark by Avon Liquid Lip Lacquer Matte and Glow On Foundation Review

Hey Beauties!

I’ve seen this line from Avon called Mark for a while now and finally made a purchase to see what the hype is about. In order to find out if their products are worth it I would usually pick my top two which are foundations and lip products. A few of Avon products have been a miss personally but there are some that were a hit. Here are my thoughts on these two products:

Lip Lacquer Matte – Pinking Of You

As per the website:

Diamond shaped brush: sculpts and colours lips in 1 smooth swipe.

1st ever built-in primer – high-pigment, lasting colour that doesn’t bleed.

Precision brush – precision sculpting brush for definition that doesn’t smudge.

Lasts for hours – magnet-lock technology that keeps matte in place with a hydrating feel.

My Experience:

The packaging is simple, with clear casing to see exactly which shade is on the inside. I chose the shade Pinking About You which is a light pastel pink. It’s small and compact which is perfect to fit in your bag or pocket.

The doe foot applicator is standard and easy for application without a lip liner, although I always line my lips but didn’t the first time I wore this when testing it. The formula has a thick mousse like texture with good pigmentation. I didn’t have to dip the applicator numerous times to achieve color payoff, I only dipped in it once.

This really is long lasting, very comfortable on the lips with a non drying formula. My lips still feel very hydrated and the color did not fade after an extended period of time. It reminds me of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, the formula, longevity etc. I love the fact that it has a built in primer for added touch. I think this is what plays a role in making this last for hours.

The only two cons I have is that it does settle into fine lines on the lips and it’s not transfer proof. But those are two cons I can look past cause the formula and longevity is splendid.

Overall thoughts:

I would definitely recommend these liquid lipsticks. It’s comfortable, non drying and I really love the formula.

Contains 7ml of product. Available in 12 shades.

Glow On Natural Radiance Foundation

As per the website:

Formulated with ingredients from nature, vitamins and antioxidants.

• Oil-free, lightweight foundation

• Natural-looking, radiant coverage

• Won’t block pores

My Experience:

The packaging is plastic, simple and lightweight. This makes it easy for traveling or popping it into your purse. I don’t mind the packaging as I’m very clumsy and I’ve sadly broken 2 or 3 foundations with glass containers in the past…

I like that it contains a pump and disperses a fair amount of product.

When I saw the words natural and radiance I didn’t expect a full coverage or matte finish foundation. The texture of this is very smooth but not as thin as I expected, it’s more like a moisturizer type of thickness and texture. The shade matched me perfectly (soft honey). I blended this out with a beauty sponge on one half of my face and a brush on the other. You could also blend this out with your fingers if desired. I don’t mind either as I noticed I achieved the same amount of coverage with a natural, skin like appearance. It’s blends out very fast without any blotchiness. This doesn’t cover my freckles on my nose (that’s how I usually tell if a foundation is medium to full coverage) and it didn’t cover a dark spot on my jaw. It gave me a natural, light coverage yet radiant and dewy finish.

Although the texture wasn’t runny or thin it felt as if I wasn’t wearing foundation. This has a very lightweight non sticky, comfortable formula on the skin. It’s perfect for everyday or ‘no makeup makeup’ kind of looks. It’s definitely a ‘your skin but better’ type of foundation and reminds me of the Mac Face and Body foundation except that the formula and texture is a bit thicker than Mac.

My only con is that it’s only available in 8 shades. Thankfully I found my shade but more shades would do, especially because I love this foundation for day to day wear and it’s cheaper than Mac Face and Body Foundation.

Overall thoughts:

I would definitely recommend this foundation. The only thing is I don’t think it would be suitable for someone with oily or very oily skin as well as someone that needs full coverage to conceal their imperfections, texture or breakouts. Maybe this will be more suited mixed in with other foundations or worn as a ‘primer’ but on its own I wouldn’t recommend it if you have those concerns.

However, personally I love it and will continue to use it for an everyday wear.

Contains 30ml or product. Available in (only) 8 shades.

Yay for Mark by Avon line! Two products that turned out great and now I’m interested to see what else I can score in this line.

Have you tried this line from Avon? What are your thoughts?

Thanks for stopping by 😊

  1. My coworker’s daughter just started selling Avon and I’m supporting her by getting a few items. I just ordered some eye shadows from the Mark by Avon line – I hope they’re good! I might try this foundation – sounds great for an everyday natural look.
