Fenty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighters Review

Hey Beauties!

Another Fenty review! Glowing to the Gods is the aim seeing that the Body Lava got my body glowing, now it’s time to highlight the face. I have 3 compacts of the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighters and I’ll be sharing my thoughts on all three individually.

Mean Money/ Hustla Baby

As per the website:

Light up where you want, when you want. Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter was born to reflect your every mood with its lineup of luminizing solos and duos. With a dose of skin-glorifying color, Killawatt ranges from subtle dayglow to insanely supercharged with shades that were designed for all skin tones.

Unlike your everyday highlighter, Killawatt keeps skin lit beyond sundown with its weightless longwear formula — a cream-powder hybrid that instantly melts into skin and blends with almost zero effort. Another win: It’s loaded with superfine shimmer for an ultra-smooth, creamy texture.

For killer radiance, Killawatt’s your go-to for highlighting your face, eyes, lips, collarbone … literally anywhere you crave a touch of light.

Fenty Beauty is 100% cruelty free.

My Experience:

I didn’t realize how gorgeous the packaging is until I saw how much sheen and two toned it has in person. The shape of her products is unique and carries some weight to it which makes it luxurious. It does contain a mirror which is good for touch ups or if you on the go. When I apply makeup at home I would use a mirror which is on a stand and my vanity mirror. And when I’m on the go I would use the mirror in the compact but to be honest if I’m out and about the only makeup I usually touch up is my lip product and blot a tiny bit on my nose.

This contains two Highlighters, one very subtle that can be used practically all over the face for that lit within/ healthy glow and the other being more intense for the highest points of the face.

In all honesty the swatches and pictures did not do this justice at all. On the face and in person its absolutely stunning.

The formula is rich, pigmented and ultra smooth to the touch. It does not have any kick up once you dip your brush in and apply, there’s no flecks of shimmer that dissipates into the air around you and it does not fall all over the face. It simply melts into the skin and does not emphasize any texture whatsoever.

You do not need to dip your brush into the product vigorously to achieve intensity. I dipped my brush in twice and I was happy with the result. It blends out perfectly and seamlessly while becoming one with the skin.

The shade of both these compliments my skin tone therefore I do think it would suit so many complexions. I can wear this highlighter with warm or cool toned makeup looks and it pairs and ties in really well with either.

Trophy Wife

This is one of Rihanna’s favorites. I’m so glad she created this very unique highlighter which I think so many people especially POC can wear. It’s hard to miss this highlight when worn and very hard not to add just a touch more than I usually do when I apply this as I cannot get over how unbelievably stunning this looks and compliments my olive/ yellow undertones. However this is a shade I would use everywhere besides my nose, chin and Cupid’s bow, everywhere else especially my cheekbones stands out and looks amazing.

The formula is consistent, rich, pigmented, no kick up or powdery. Instead it blends into the skin and beams beautifully. I think wearing warm toned makeup looks compliments this Highlighter more than a cool toned look.

Metal Moon

Same goodness as Trophy Wife, the formula, texture, pigmentation and creaminess is consistent.

I did not think this shade would suit me but it’s not an ‘icy,’ unwearable shade. It actually has some dimension to it with a champagne undertone. This does suit lighter skin tones better especially if you going to be wearing it on the cheekbones or décolleté. This is the opposite of Trophy Wife whereasI place this highlighter everywhere but the cheekbones. However I could wear this on the cheekbones paired with a natural or cool toned eye look and it would still look amazing.

Overall thoughts:

I love this. It’s worth it. I will be wearing this till there’s nothing left and enjoy it every single time I use it. End of.
