Carol’s Daughter Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Hey Beauties!

For the past year and a half I’ve been on a mission for my hair to not only grow but maintain for it to be healthy. I’ve been using really good shampoos, conditioners, masks and coconut oil to ensure it’s consistent. I love switching up my shampoos and conditioners as long as it’s free from all harsh ingredients. I’ve seen Carol’s Daughter for months at my local store and decided to give it a shot as it was discounted too.

Black Vanilla Sulphate-free Shampoo

As per the website:

No Silicones, No Parabens, No Mineral Oil, No Artificial Colors, No Petroleum

When your hair has the right balance of moisture the rest just falls into place – manageability, shine, softness – no matter how dry, dull or brittle the hair. So, fix it in an instant with help from this sulfate-free, color-safe shampoo that cleanses and restores your natural moisture without adding weight to your hair. Aloe Leaf Juice hydrates your hair so it’s softer and more manageable, while Sweet Clover and Rose Extract give hair oodles of healthy shine.

Powerful ingredients at work:

Aloe Leaf

Calendula Flower

Rose Extract

Sweet Clover

How to use:

Completely wet your hair so the shampoo can work in easily. Apply the shampoo and take a moment to gently massage into your hair and scalp. Rinse well with warm water until all suds are gone.

My Experience:

Firstly the packaging is great! It contains a pump and has so much product in this big container. I have dry hair hence why I chose this specific type of shampoo, its sulfate free and a very natural product free from harsh ingredients which I’ve been staying away from.

The consistency I assumed was thick because the first couple of pumps I really had to keep pushing down on the pump to get the product out but after that it was smooth sailing. This does state black vanilla on the packaging and the scent of this is amazing! It’s also one of those shampoos and conditioners where the scent actually lingers a couple of days after you’ve washed, heat styled it or air dried. Usually I find that once I blow dry my hair or flat iron it the scent of the shampoo and conditioner fades and I can no longer smell it, but with this the scent seems to last.

For a sulphate free shampoo this does sud up very well. I don’t need to use tons of product to get it to sud up and my hair feels clean but soft and smooth.

It does contain actual vanilla particles in the shampoo which caught me off guard but that doesn’t bother me as it rinses out quite easily.

My hair does not appear or feel dry and dull once I’ve shampooed it, usually because my hair is so dry I would have to apply conditioner straight after shampooing to eliminate dullness and non smoothness. With this I don’t even have to or I could get away with not conditioning my hair, although I always do, but that’s how soft and sleek this makes my hair. I could tell from the first wash till a couple of washes after that the formula, shine, scent, claims etc. is consistent. One thing I don’t like about so many shampoos is that after the using it the first time and then using it a couple of times after that, I don’t get the same effect as I did the first couple of times. That’s also one of the reasons I switch up my shampoos and conditioners, with this I see myself repurchasing this again.

Contains 355 ml/ 12 Fl.oz

I purchased this at Clicks Pharmacy.

Black Vanilla Hydrating Conditioner

As per the website:

No Parabens, No Mineral Oil, No Artificial Colors, No Petroleum

You can instantly put an end to dry, dull, brittle hair. When you naturally balance hair’s moisture – manageability, softness and shine are just around the corner. This rich hydrating conditioner can do just that, plus it detangles and makes hair easier to style. The blend of Pro-vitamin B5 and Biotin strengthens and softens hair when it’s wet so there are fewer snags, snaps and tugs. And, it’s light enough to use daily and is also perfect as a co-wash.

Powerful ingredients at work:

Pro-vitamin B5

How to use:

After shampooing, work thoroughly into wet hair. Massage gently into your scalp and hair, especially the ends. Leave in your hair for 3 to 5 minutes and rinse well.

My Experience:

As I mentioned before I love the packaging and how much product you get which will last a while.

The pump on the conditioner was not as stiff at first as the shampoo, it dispersed enough product with only 3 to 4 pumps for my entire head.

The scent of this is absolutely divine. I didn’t think I would enjoy vanilla scented hair products but it’s quite pleasant.

The consistency isn’t thick but its super hydrating and nourishing. My hair feels so soft and smooth. I usually leave conditioner in my hair for about 10 to 20 minutes before rinsing. The least amount of time was 5 minutes but even then my hair still felt and appeared nourished, sleek and shiny.

Contains 355 ml/ 12 Fl.oz of product. I purchased mine at Clicks Pharmacy.
