Usually I interchange brow products constantly as I don’t stick to using the same products. That can be a bit surprising to some as I know so many people tend to stick to the same brow products/ routine for years. I use to use powders only, and now I stick to pencils and brow gels. I haven’t tried pomades so that is next on my list. But currently this is what I use…
For brow pencils, depending on my makeup look, I have three pencils I rotate and will state what each pencil’s purpose is.
On days or nights I’m wearing full face of glam, taking pictures or wearing full coverage foundation I will apply this specific pencil. This is in the shade Granite which is their darkest shade, and seeing that this is quite pigmented I usually start off with a very light hand and then gradually use a bit more intensity towards the outer part/ tail of my brows. I usually outline and fill in my brows and with this pencil I spend a bit more time sculpting my brows and defining them.
On days that I’m wearing natural, glowing or barely wearing any makeup at all I would use this pencil to only fill in sparse areas for a natural brow. I don’t sculpt or outline or completely fill in, I mainly use this to fill in sparse areas. Because this pencil provides such a natural hair-like affect, my brows don’t really look filled in. The formula is a bit more ‘waxy’ and not as pigmented as you’d think which I actually like.
On days I don’t have much time to do my makeup but still want to look put together, or on days I’m wearing medium coverage foundation with a couple of eye shadows on my eyes, I can use this pencil and I’d be done within seconds. The shape allows to me to gently outline and fill in my brows very quickly. I really love the formula of this too as it’s comparable to a high end pencil.
I basically use brow gel no matter what brow pencil I’m using. On days I’m really in a rush and only wearing mascara and lip gloss, I usually only wear brow gel and don’t bother with a brow pencil at all. Even though I’m terrified of snakes and this wand freaked me out the first time I used it, I enjoy the formula of this gel so much I now look past it. It does contain fibers to help fill in your brows and the shade matches me perfectly. This keeps my brow hairs in place all day and the pigmentation remains opaque without any fading or hairs falling out of place. I would definitely repurchase this brow gel. The shape of the wand is also big enough to quickly and effortlessly fill in my brow hairs without me dipping the wand in the tube multiple times, I only dip it in once per brow.
What are some of your current or holy grail brow products?
Please recommend some brow pomades for me to try!
