Rimmel Spice Edition Eye Contouring Palette Review

Hey Beauties!

I actually forgot I purchased this affordable palette and put it to the test over the weekend. To be honest Rimmel isn’t a brand I usually purchase from, nothing against the brand but besides the Stay Matte powder which I’ve tried once before I don’t own any other products from this brand.

Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Eyeshadow Palette – Spice

When I spotted this the shades looked very appealing and it reminded me of the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette. They offer varies palettes but this appealed to me the most because of the warm tones.

My Experience:

I honestly wasn’t expecting much and the fact that I forgot I even purchased this palette was also surprising. It is affordable and it reminded me of a dupe for a high end palette so that’s also probably why I placed in a draw and forgot about it. When I opened it this past weekend, swatched it, I immediately took some pics and started playing around with the palette. Firstly the pigmentation is what got me. This is highly pigmented and the formula and feel of it is like high end eye shadows. I was immediately impressed. The shadows felt very soft, smooth and opaque. After swatching it I applied it I applied it to my eyes and created a quick makeup look with it.

These shades blend into each other very well and layer very well on top of each too. With some eye shadows or palettes sometimes you’ll have to work or blend a bit more in order for shadows to blend into each other or layer on top of each other. With this I didn’t struggle or spend a lot of time blending these shades together, it coincided seamlessly and effortlessly.

The matte shades were creamy, soft and blend-able with minimal fall out. The shimmer shades were opaque. I applied all the shimmer shades dry and in the pictures that’s the intensity I got which was amazing. I tried to use as much shades as possible to get a full review on this palette. Even the purple shade was easy to work with as I know making a purple eye shadow is tricky but this worked well.

I would definitely recommend this palette, don’t sleep on it!!

Contains 12 eye shadows. Retails for R189,95.

Have you tried any of these Rimmel palettes? What are your thoughts?

Thanks for stopping by 😊

  1. This kind of colors are my favorite to wear. The lighter shadows during the day do not look that good on me but it looks good during a nighttime. Opposite to that, during the day, dark toned shadows mixed with black (in the crease and little bit under the eyes) look really nice but not everyone would wear that intense colors during the day (I’m not included, I wear whatever I like as long as it is blended good and as long as it makes me happy 😀 ). I didn’t know that Rimmel came out with palette with this color scheme. I already have a Make Up Revolution palette in this colors which shadows are not blending as well as I would like to. So, thank you, I will be looking up to see if I can find it 🙂
    Have a nice one 😉

  2. This is such a beautiful palette and I’m glad to hear the shades and formula blend well and look just as good on the eyes! Rimmel is not known for their eyeshadows but it sounds like this palette is a step in the right direction 🙂
