Who am I? Not too long ago I honestly didn’t think I would own any beauty products from boujee brands like Chanel or Dior. I am so grateful I am able to experience and explore products from Chanel as I’ve adored this brand since a very young age.
As per the website:
An ingenious, oil-free, multi-tasking foundation base that illuminates and evens the complexion while minimizing the appearance of pores. Adds subtle contour and radiance to the face.
A unique blend of powders provides a smooth, even, flawless finish. Witch Hazel and Licorice Extract prime skin for makeup by minimizing the appearance of pores and evening skin tone.
how to apply
Starting at the center of the face in a downward sweeping motion, apply LE BLANC DE CHANEL to the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin with a combination of fingers, Foundation Brush #6 or a sponge. Can be worn alone, under foundation or on top for a fresh, radiant result.
I was torn between choosing a foundation or primer, I figured since I have so many foundations at the moment and only a few primers I chose a primer instead. Although it was very tempting as I’ve never owned a Chanel foundation before.
The packaging is exquisite and I love how simple all of Chanel’s packaging is. The black and white appears sleek. This does contain a glass bottle with a pump and 30ml/ 1 fl.oz of product which is suffice.
The consistency is thin and white in color when dispensed. I only use one pump per application which is enough for my entire face. Once applied it feels thick and reminded me of a sunscreen consistency and spread-ability on the skin. As I blended it out the luminosity shone through and left my skin looking and feeling moisturized and hydrated. It did not feel heavy on the skin and the white tint disappeared once I completed application.
I did not notice it filled in my pores as much as it claims to though. I’m not really worried about pore filling primers or that’s really not my concern so therefore this aspect didn’t really bother me.
I wore this with my current favorite foundation (Loreal Infallible Fresh Wear, Too Faced Born This Way and Lancome Skin Feels Good Tint) and this wore very well under all those foundations. The best way I can describe it that it basically grips my foundation and I presume that enhances the longevity of my makeup. I love that it contain the ingredient Licorice Extract as it contains antioxidants.
As per the website:
An intense, long-wearing lip colour with full coverage and a satin finish. Leaves lips supple and protected with lasting comfort.
In a new formula, ROUGE ALLURE features concentrated, ultra-thin pigments that deliver full coverage and magnify shade intensity. Sweet Almond Oil, Green Tea and Sappan Wood helps smooth, moisturize and protect lips. All in a signature ROUGE ALLURE click case.
how to apply
Apply directly to lips or use the Retractable Lip Brush.
I purchased this more as a souvenir or to cherish and admire. Once I’m complete with this lipstick I will never throw this away as it is my first Chanel lipstick. I contemplated getting a gloss but one can never go wrong with a classic lipstick.
Online it states that this limited edition so I’m glad I was able to purchase this as it makes it even more valuable. The packaging I have no complaints with as I do need to press it at the bottom for the lipstick to pop open/ click case component. It’s the little things… It makes me feel boujee.
There are 27 shades available and I picked the shade 174 Rouge Angelique which is a nude mauve that compliments my skin tone very well. The formula is smooth, opaque and glides onto the lips easily even without a lip liner. It feels moisturizing on the lips and does last a while before I need to reapply. However, it is a traditional lipstick as it will transfer or fade throughout the day.
Overall I give both these products my approval as I was fairly impressed with the overall quality, ingredients, longevity and claims that were met up.
What are your favorite beauty products from Chanel? What are your thoughts?
