Skin Care

Current Skincare Routine June 2019

Hey Beauties!

This may seem like an extensive collection but keep in mind I take pride in taking good care of my skin. I’ve figured out what ingredients work well for me and what products are staples. Also, I am an aesthetician therefore skincare is a huge passion of mine.

MAKEUP REMOVERS

Lancome Eau Miscellar

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

To remove my eye makeup or if I’m wearing only mascara and brow products I use this miscellar water to do so. I find that this is gentle and does not burn my eyes whatsoever. I won’t be repurchasing this as it is pricey especially for only taking off my eye makeup.

I cannot take my makeup off without this stuff! It does an amazing job at removing the fullest coverage, heavy glam makeup. I’ve tried facial wipes, I’ve tried other makeup removes whether it’s oil or a balm but nothing compares to this. I will go as far as not wearing makeup if I don’t have the Clinique balm to remove it.

CLEANSING

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Toner

Babor Enzyme Cleanser

Babor Bi-phase Hy-Ol and Phytoactive Reactivating

Babor Rose Toning Essence

At night post makeup removal I use the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser which is a gel cleanser. This thoroughly cleanses my skin without stripping my natural oils. Only a tiny amount is needed and emulsified with water, hence I’ve had this for months now.

I then apply the Kiehl’s toner as my last cleansing step.

The Babor Enzyme cleanser is in a powder form and must be mixed with water. I use this twice per week post makeup removal in place of the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser. This deeply cleanses and exfoliates my skin for a squeaky clean thorough cleanse.

In the mornings I apply two pumps of the Babor Hy-ol and one pump of the Phyto reactivating on top of that to cleanse my skin. This is an oil cleanser ideal for my skin especially during winter and colder months where my skin is much drier and dehydrated than usual. I then use the Rose Toning Essence to finish off and further hydrate my skin. If I don’t wear any makeup during the day I use this cleansing system from Babor at night too.

EXFOLIATOR AND MASKS

Loreal Sugar Smooth and Glow Scrub

Glamglow Glitter Mask

Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment Mask

On days where I don’t use the Babor Enzyme Cleanser I love using the Loreal smooth sugar scrub which deeply but effectively exfoliates my skin and ensures I’m left with soft, supple skin. My skin reacts very well with physical exfoliators although I know a lot of people’s skin reacts very well with chemical exfoliants.

I know this is the only affordable skincare product I have currently but like I mentioned skincare is something I take pride in. Not that affordable products don’t work but I tend to use products or brands I work with or know greatly in depth. I tend to take risks with makeup and purchase from almost any brand whether it’s affordable or high end but when it comes to skincare I complete my full research, and if I have not been trained or well informed on a brand or product I don’t take the risk.

There has not been a mask from Glamglow that I have not been impressed by. My favorite is the Hydrating mask which I ran out of. I love all three of these but the Supermud clearing is my favorite out of this as it clears out and gets rid of makeup build up, unclogs my pores and deeply cleanses my skin. I love using this at the end of the week especially if I’ve worn makeup for days in a row.

The other two masks I use alternatively during the week which lifts and firms my skin.

Other masks I love and just ran out of is the Summer Fridays Jet Lag MaskGarnier Sheet Masks or Laneige Korean Skincare.

SERUM, BOOSTERS AND OILS

Babor Essential Care Moisture Serum

Babor Ampoule Concentrates

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Derca Anti-Age Gold Elixir

This is now a staple in my skincare routine. I have dry skin and this moisturizes and hydrates my skin so well. I apply it morning and night if I’m not using a Babor ampoule.

The Babor ampoules are skin boosters or a “pick me up” product. The ingredients are highly concentrated that packs a punch for fast results. The hydrating and Collagen ampoules are two of my favorite although they offer a variety depending on your skin concern/ condition.

At night I use the Midnight Recovery Concentrate which replenishes the skin and hydrates while I sleep. This has made a difference in my skin as I could tell after not using this for a week and then using it the next week again.

DAY AND NIGHT CREAMS

Glamglow Good In Bed

Origins GinZing Ultra Hydrating Energy Cream

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream

I combine this oil with my Origins moisturizer that I use during the day. I only use about two to three drops per day but this keeps my skin hydrated all day long. It does not clog my pores, feel heavy or interfere with makeup.

This is such a luxurious night time treatment that I’ve fallen in love with. I will complete a separate post on this to properly explain why I love this so much. I love using this at night especially when my skin feels sluggish, tight or extremely dry. It’s designed to smooth, moisturize and hydrate the skin while you sleep. And it smells great too!

The Origins moisturizer is such a great emollient that is extremely hydrating and quenching for the skin. I combine this with my Derca oil but I’ve worn this alone too and it still provides great nourishment for my skin. This smells great too!

Although this a small sample size, I only use a tiny amount daily and it manages to have lasted a while. This is very moisturizing under my dark circles and fine lines. I find that it’s light reflecting as well and plays well with makeup.

I know I didn’t go into too much detail on each product but I will complete separate posts on Babor and the GlamGlow Good in Bed.

Are there any products you using too in this routine? Do you have any skincare questions?
