Stila Heavens Hue Highlighter and Fired Up Trio Liquid Eye Shadow

Hey Beauties!

Can you believe it took me this long to finally try this highlighter and mostly the infamous Stila liquid eye shadows that literally every single person in the beauty community has tried! I was extremely excited to spot this in the Woolworths Beauty section as a trio because purchasing it individually is quite pricey in my opinion. I don’t use glitter or liquid eye shadows on a daily basis therefore it made sense to purchase this trio in a mini size. Seeing that I snatched the trio I really wanted to try their Heavens Hue highlighter for the longest time and while browsing I spotted this beautiful shade that I could not pass up on.

Perfect pairing! Stila’s Mini Wonder Brush™ For Face & Body

My Experience:

The packaging of this is absolutely exquisite. In fact, all of Stila’s gold packaging I absolutely love. I swatched most shades numerous times in store and the texture of this is unbelievable.

I chose the shade Brilliance which matched my complexion very well. It’s described as a golden, candle light glow which I agree. It is a beaming highlighter but you could tone it down for a subtle glow. There is no kick up or powder-like formula because of how bouncy the texture is.

This applies beautifully with a sponge, fingers or brush. However I wouldn’t recommend applying this on areas where too much powder was applied or if you bake your cheeks or t-zone as the opacity will not be as vibrant. My favorite method is applying it with a sponge as it appears very smooth, beaming and lite from within. It does not sit on top of the skin and rather melts in because of the formula.

This melts into the skin very well and very easy to blend and work with. I would definitely be using this a ton this summer.

My Experience:

As I mentioned in the beginning I literally snatched this up when I spotted this trio. I considered so many times purchasing the full size of a single but the price kills me every time and I would only have the choice of using one shade every time I want to wear this. They had this trio during the holiday season last year I believe and still I did not purchase it. This time I grabbed it as there were only 3 left in stock. I absolutely love the shades included in this trio which includes a rustic shade, bronze and champagne shade. This is limited edition which made this purchase even more worthwhile.

The glitter shines gorgeously in the light especially outside in natural lightning when the sun hits my face/ eyes.

My favorite shade is Sunset Fire. I apply this on my entire lid, inner corner and I’ve even used this very lightly and precisely on the very tops of my cheek bones after apply foundation as a base for my powder highlighter.

I would not recommend concealing your eyelids with concealer and then setting it with translucent powder and going on top of that with this liquid eye shadow. I made that mistake and it completely removed my concealer and translucent powder. Instead I used a glitter glue or you could use an actual eye shadow primer and then go ahead and use the liquid eye shadow and no problems occurred then.

This has long lasting staying power and I’m so happy I finally gave this a shot and I’m absolutely loving the formula, intensity and shades.
